Exciting changes.

Have you ever started something, enjoyed it for awhile, then decided you love it and hate it all at the same time?
Thats how I feel about my blog. I've loved having this blog to document my goings-on, actually mainly just my crafts! But now I'm ready to improve and expand myself. I want my family back home in England to be able to hop over to my blog and see what's going on for me and the boys, not just look at another craft i did.

I decided to change my blog name! I've been toying with the idea for awhile. Made from scratch was bugging me to DEATH, i couldn't handle it anymore! So my siblings and i brain stormed and came up with ' Little bird with a french fry'. Have you ever seen a bird with a fry? It's one crazy happy bird! If your English you've probably heard 'seagull with a chip'

Im excited for the fresh start and the bigger direction.
I love seeing my traffic and feed followers grow so i hope the big change doesn't put people off!
I'm super excited for all the upcoming projects and events we have planned so stay tuned!!

Knitted Slouchy Beanie Free Pattern

Both my husband and i LOVE this hat. I made it for him but i love to wear it too! its a very easy and quick beginners hat pattern but looks wonderful! The 100% wool i used makes this hat super warm for the winter or a great accessory for summer nights. Why not start teaching yourself to knit this summer with this pattern!

This is my first ever knitted pattern that I've written myself so i hope it makes sense!

Slouchy knitted hat pattern.

Here i have used patins classic 100% wool roving
Working in the round on circular needles size US 11 ( my circulars needles are 16 inches long )

* cast on 56 sts
 ( this hat fits a big head nicely or a small head with a great slouch, if you want it smaller cast on in multiples of 2 )

* K2, P2 around.

* Continue to K2, P2 until you have about 3 inches for your hat brim.

* Make one.

* K1, P1 all the way around, this is known as a seed stitch or a moss stitch.

* continue to K1, P1 until you have the desired length which is around 12 - 13 inches from top to bottom.

* cast off

* take a long piece of yarn and sew it in and out all around the rim of where you cast off. Pull tight and tie off tightly in a knot on the inside of the hat.

Add a big pom pom if you wish!

This is what it looks like on my head, my head is much smaller.

Easy Cornflake Cake Recipe

These adorable easter cornflake cakes are my 'go to' easter activity with the boys. We made them as kids in England ALL the time and my boys love them as much as me and my siblings did.

They are super fast and are also a great treat to share with friends and neighbors!

Heres how you make them ..

You will need

* 6 cups of cornflakes
* one bag of milk chocolate chips
* one bag of mini eggs
* cup cake liners
* muffin tin

1 -  Melt your chocolate chips in a large bowl. I put mine on for a minuet then take it out to stir then put it back in for another 50 seconds.

2- Add your 6 cups of cornflakes to the chocolate and stir until covered. I like to add 4 cups first, get that covered in chocolate then add the rest in half cup intervals until i have all my cornflakes in and covered.

3. Put your cupcake liners in your pan then fill them with spoon fills of chocolate cornflakes

4 - Top each cake with 2 or 3 mini eggs and place the pan in the fridge to chill for about an hour or until hard. Most of the time i will just throw them in the freezer for 15 to 20 minuets.

Then your finished! display them for easter, gift them to friends, keep them as treats for the kiddos!

Finally blogging again!

Merry Christmas! Happy New year! AND happy valentines day!

That is how long i have been without a computer! can you believe it?! my two year old vomited all over my macbook pro on the way home from our christmas holiday in St George. It was a nightmare, i couldn't be cross at him since he was sick and i had let him watch a film on the way home.
Anyway, we ended up deciding to not go out and buy a new computer straight away since we wanted an iMac and those babies are SO expensive. So we decided to wait, the mac worked a little if it was plugged in at all times until one day it died! we took it to apple and they said it will cost $900 to fix, we decided to not fix it and eventually get an iMac in a month or so. SOMEHOW my husband managed to leave the computer at the apple store for almost a month, we to it back today and i don't know how or why but IT WORKS!! it turns on and holds its charge again! ( ... not to jinx it or anything!)

MIRACLE!

I do feel like I'm walking on egg shells while using it though, I'm terrified it will just die on me again!

Anyway, since christmas, all i have done crochet wise is finish all my Etsy orders and crochet some new wash cloths which i LOVE. i had no idea i would love crochet cloths but i do and i use them for everything. bathing the boys, dishes, wiping counter tops. I will be photographing them soon to add them to my shop!

I also got a new camera, something I've been DYING for, for years now. I love it, its wonderful.
Heres some pictures if been taking of the boys. Feel free to give me some pointers!

So far I've really enjoyed taking pictures of our every day life, i want to make sure i don't forget anything!

Hahaha! I Love maddox and his facial expression!

Crochet Hair Bow

In between making a pom pom wreath and crocheting a million boot cuffs I made this crochet hair bow!

 They are up for sale in my Etsy shop and are available in all sorts of colours!
Thats really all i have to say about the crochet hair bow, haha, they would make cute little stocking fillers this year!
Each one uses a bobble, or a hair tie, ponytail? whatever you want to call it, so its easy to attach to your hair.

Pom Pom Wreath

Wow!
It has been such a BUSY few weeks. We had my brother fly in from England and stay a few weeks, it was a lot of fun, the boys love him and Jasper still asks me every day ' where is Joe mama?' Such a sweet little boy!

Recently bought a pom pom maker, it was totally a random buy. I saw Anthropologie using one at one of their craft days so decided to go look at those little suckers with no intension to buy it since i really didn't make pom poms often enough. Anyway, i took it home and made a fabulous ( if i do say so myself ... and i do! ) Pom pom wreath!
I love wreaths and changing them out each season or holiday.
This will be my Christmas Pom pom wreath.
Im pretty proud of it, Alan was even able to help out! He made 2 pom poms!

The boys love to run their fingers though it and try to pull the pom poms off daily, they had a pom pom fight during the making off.
Anyway, enough talking, heres some pictures!

Right now I'm super ticked that i haven't been saving my money for a new camera! It's the top of my list next year. You would think an old photography student would have one but i don't.

I used a combination of 100% natural wool, alpaca and a little cheap chunky acrylic. I love the overall natural feel to it.

It will hang by this teal velvet ribbon once i get round to it, for now its just hung by a thread. It will probably come crashing down tonight.

I honestly feel the images don't do it justice!
Seriously, someone buy me a new camera!

Oh! I'm also selling these bad boys in my Etsy shop!

Crochet Bunting Banner

My brother has been visiting from England for the past week so things have slowed down a lot around the blog, I've really just been keeping up on Etsy orders and spending time with him.

As Christmas is on its way i have been thinking of decorations i want to put up once alan gives me the go ahead, if it was up to me, we would have already put our christmas decorations up a month ago! bit of an eager beaver.
I LOVE banners, especially bunting banners so i whipped up this festive looking one. I think this crochet bunting banner will make a great addition this year. Im even thinking of wrapping it around my tree.

The bunting banner was easy to make once i had worked out a pattern for it. Im excited to put it up with the rest of my decorations later this month so watch out of a picture of the banner in full swing!
I think this could be used for a wonderful unique baby gift, just simply make it with different colours! I want to make one for the boys room and one for my room too!!

If you want to buy the pattern you can find it in my Etsy shop for $3.50
If you want to buy the final product, you can find it in my shop for  $24.50
